These days, while I was preparing for teaching two illustration classes starting next semester in Seoul reminded me when I had to decide one school to attend between two.
In 2006, I dedicated myself to prepare studying abroad to America for the entire year, and my first priority was California. And when I got the 'Congratulations' packet from Art Center, it couldn't been happier. But the thing even though I had a driver's license, could't drive a car made me decided to come to New York.
Three years later, I had to make another big choice for the school, and I got the letter from Pratt institute. Thankfully, the result was so excited because they decided to give me a scholarship. However, if they spelled my name correct, and also the address, did I choose that school?... Ok, I understand the spelling mistakes, but the biggest reason I didn't choose was the major...
But what if I decided to go to Art Center, did I become a different person?
And if I decided to go to Pratt's Fine Arts MFA program, what am I drawing right now?...
It made me imagine several things in several times, but I decided to go to SVA for five years and here who I am now.
Sometimes, I need a time machine to go back to that moment to make another decision.
But it's probably the same who I am... not depends on where I was.
I'm still preparing for my teaching schedules.
