How are you? How's your end of the year?
Yesterday was a snow day here in Seoul, and TV showed 'Serendipity' several times that made me really miss New York's winter! I felt like I'm in front of the the Frozen Hot Chocolate restaurant while I was watching the movie!
I was pretty busy these days maybe had the busiest time of the year. I hope this time will be worth for the future. 2016 was pretty awful for everyone in the world, especially for Koreans, and for me, actually it was the worst... so I really looking forward to the new 2017!
Here's my latest published works from the Texas Monthly and Cincinnati Magazine's Tableside column.
My first work with Texas Monthly was the time I just got out of the grad school in 2011, and AD Andi Beierman was one of the best and memorable ADs until now! I really enjoyed working with her and was looking forward to working with them again. And finally, after five years I heard from them and this time I worked with Victoria Millner who was a designer. Thanks Victoria!
The assignment was about ' Bum Steers Award 2017' and I had to finish ten single pieces in a short time, and it was pretty enjoyable. I was glad to see them in their website even before Jan 2017 came, so I felt like I had already a good year ahead.
And the image in the bottom was the last piece of my recurring assignment of Cincinnati Magazine's Tableside column. I did my best for every single piece I did for them once a month, and even though it was a short time I really enjoyed working on the series. Hopefully another great recurring assignment is coming to me in the new year? Cross my fingers! :)
I think this blog post is the last one to write to you. Don't worry, I'll keep posting here and will keep in touch with you more often, but I just think that this is the right time to stop writing to you in my blog. I maybe go back to a normal illustrator's blog or write to someone else, but don't know anything yet. But I've been so happy for a year while I wrote to you through this space, and I hope people felt the same!
Don't know you got my holiday card in your hands yet. Hopefully it arrived safely!
Thanks for everything 2016 and especially you, Jorge!
